Yes, after all that waiting I am the proud recipient of a Diplock Scholarship. Sorry to everyone for the tantrum in the last post.
I would like to say that I am off to toast Lord Diplock, unfortunately an employment law exam prevents me from doing so :(
All the best

Yay well done!!!
Are you attending the dinner?
I don't want to be drunk and foolish by myself!
I still don't have the letter yet because they needed to wait for the Blackstones Entrance Exhibition cheque to come through before posting it to me, but I am pretty sure that if I am free some of the £85 I get back for that award will be going into buying some drinks at the meal.
I do a pretty good line in drunk and foolish myself so we should be fine lol
You got an exhibitions cheque? What does that cover? Entry and fees etc?
A Blackstones Entrance Exhibition covers the cost of joining the Inn ie. the £85 that you hand over with your application for membership.
I joined last year so I get my money back.
Congratulations BoB! It's the most wonderful ego massaging experience imaginable - nice letter, lots of interest from your interviewing pannel in your career, a mention on the website AND in the Times!
Well done. Knew you would be OK.
Scholars get mentioned in the times?
Yup, Lost, they do.
How do you know when? I feel the need to collect it and put it in some kind of scrapbook...
It'll be a while yet, Hannah - probably later this year; the 2008 bunch turned up in The December 8 edition of The Times. It's very nice to have a copy of the paper for posterity!
